Un grand merci aux organisateurs du Carnaval
What a successful activity!
The Grade 3 students were so ready for this winter celebration of the French/ Canadian Culture.
We read stories about the history,
traditions, symbols, art and food of the "Quebec Carnaval”. We all
enjoyed the Carnival songs, the inside and outside activities.
It was an awesome day full of fun
activities and we would like to take the opportunity to thank all the
volunteers who were part of this awesome celebration.
We attach our Artwork dedicated to
the Winter Carnival and some pictures of our activities.

Dear Parents,
We have just finished the unit: Addition
and Subtraction
Students applied mental mathematics strategies and number properties for:
1/2/3-digit
additions
1/2/3 subtractions
Students used their personal strategies to add and subtract with answers
to 1000.
We have been practicing these equations having as support Manipulatives,
Number Charts to 1000 and the new Math Chart the students keep in their
agendas.
The students also wrote story problems that required Addition/
Subtractions.
They traded their problems with classmates and compared/checked their
work.
We are going to test our knowledge this week writing a Math test.
Science Presentation
We had a guest in our class, Mr. Spence, Sabine's father, who is an architect.
He talked about his work,
sharing with us his passion for this job. He also brought some new houses
designs. The students asked him many questions who helped them in designing the
next Science Project:” Building Houses”.
We would like to thank Mr. Spence for his awesome presentation!
Merci,
The Grade 3 Team
